Samsung Galaxy Note 9: Pre-orders in India Starts August 19

Note 9

Samsung is all set to launch the new Galaxy Note 9 at a mega event in New York on Aug. 9. Now there are reports of the phone going up for pre-order in India as early as Aug. 19 itself.

This again happens to be the strategy that Samsung has been following to perfection for the past few years, that of ensuring the device is ready to reach markets within just weeks of the official launch. This way, the initial craze created when the phone is first launched gets translated into actual sales. The same report that first appeared on 91Mobiles also claimed the Note 9 will see its India launch anywhere between Aug. 1 to Aug. 16. This would be followed by sales getting started by the first week of September.

The price the Note 9 will sell for in India too got leaked earlier, with sources claiming the base model of the phone will be priced Rs. 72,990. That can be a clear indication of the top end version likely to breach the Rs. 1 lakh mark, or get real close to it if not otherwise.

Meanwhile, in another leak of high quality renders of the phone, the Note 9 has been revealed in the blue, black and brown colour options. The credit for the leak goes to noted tipster Evan Blass, which makes the revelation something that we just can’t just shrug off lightly. Apart from the above mentioned colours, we have also been treated with Note 9 renders done up in Lilac Purple and Deep sea Blue earlier thanks to similar leaks. Further, each of the Note 9 versions will also be accompanied by the S Pen that too is finished with a matching colour.

As for its specifications, the Note 9 is tipped to come powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset for the version that will go on sale in the US. That apart, the Note 9 version that is slated to go on sale elsewhere in the world will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 chipset. On-board memory options include 6 GB and 8 GB while storage options range from 128 GB and 512 GB. Upfront, its going to be a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display having an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

The leaked renders also revealed a dual camera setup at the rear which together with the LED flash and other sensors are seen arranged horizontally. Just beneath it is the fingerprint sensor which again should be disappointing given that many had in fact expected the Note 9 to feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
