Samsung Galaxy S8 is the next flagship the Korean smartphone maker is planning to launch by next year. There are reports that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017 in February and the sale will commence in March. The report is in line with the rumors we earlier reported that the smartphone will launch early next year.
As rumors say, the smartphone is expected to ship with a full-screen OLED display and dual rear cameras in March 2017. Expected to showcase during the annual MWC 2017 conference, the report suggests that the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will flaunt several design modifications compared to the previous counterpart.
According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be revealed in February 2017 with expected launch in the United States in March 2017. This will be followed by launches in other countries like India.
According to a concept video released on YouTube, the Galaxy S8 will be named as Dream and Dream 2. While the Dream will have a 5.1-inch display, the Dream 2 will be equipped with a 5.5-inch display. Moreover, the display will provide support for 4K alongside all other core features such as water resistance.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will ditch physical home button and integrate OLED display
As per a report released by ETNews, Samsung will eliminate the physical home button on Samsung Galaxy S8. However, you will find both the home button and the fingerprint scanner infused inside the display. Moreover, the report also states that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will flaunt an OLED display.
This is more or less similar to that rumored design structure of iPhone 2017, where you can see the fingerprint on the display. As we reported previously, Apple is planning something big to celebrate the 10th anniversary of iPhone.
In addition to the removal of the home button, Samsung is also planning to ditch the top and bottom edges of the display. Hence, you will only view the display on the front of the phone.
If rumors are to be believed, Samsung is expected to follow the footsteps of Apple and will integrate a dual camera sensor in the Galaxy S8. However, analysts believe that Samsung’s move to integrate dual camera is too late since Apple had already infused it on iPhone 7 Plus.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature dual camera
There are reports that Samsung has not yet decided as to whether to make use of all-in-one dual-cameras or separate camera sensors on the rear of the Galaxy S8. If reports are not false, you can expect separate sensors of 16MP and 8MP capacities instead of a rumored single 30MP sensor unit.
Samsung Galaxy S8 specifications
On the specifications front, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to feature an Exynos 8895 processor coupled with a Mali-G71 graphics processor. The Exynos 8895 processor will have the capability to crank up to 3GHz and will also improve image processing by 30 percent. These figures are comparatively high when compared to the previous counterpart.
Samsung Galaxy S8 price
Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be priced $100 more than the currently available Galaxy S7 because of integration of new features.
It remains to be seen how Samsung is going to regain trust among customers after the disastrous experience with Samsung Galaxy Note 7. We are sure many people will be afraid to invest for a costly Samsung smartphone since they don’t want to risk their life.
As you can see from the rumors, Samsung seems to have borrowed most of the features from iPhone 7. Will there be any possible legal tussle between the Cupertino-based tech giant and Samsung? We have to wait and watch.
