Apple iPhone 7 lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack ‘confirmed’ in leaked video

The alleged video of the upcoming iPhone 7 lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter has leaked online. Originally leaked on a Vietnam-based tech portal, the adapter looks like a small wire in white color. As per the initial looks, the adapter seems to be the official product but we don’t have any concrete confirmation.

The forthcoming iPhone 7 or iPhone 2016 will eliminate the use of a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be replaced by a lightning connector port. You can use any headphones to establish connectivity. However, the leaked lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter will be very useful if you use your headphone with a 3.5mm jack with the new iPhone 7.

Apple iPhone 7 lightning to 3.5mm jack design

The adapter looks like a pure white cable wrapper and jack coverings with proper curves. We noticed that the leaker demonstrated the functioning of the adapter with his headphone on iPhone 6s running a beta version of iOS 10. According to sources, the iPhone adapter will work only with devices with iOS 10.

As per the information disclosed by the leaker, the adapter was shipped directly from a Foxconn manufacturing unit, which has a deep relationship with the Cupertino-based company.

With a simple look and style, the adapter looks similar to that of the USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack included with Le 2. LeEco has integrated new audio connector in Le2. You will not be able to connect your existing headphone. Hence, the company has bundled an adapter cable with the package.

It’s almost clear that the new iPhone expected to be released during the first week of September will not accompany a conventional headphone jack. However, the new earphones with lightning connector will be somewhat costly. Hence, an adapter to convert lightning to 3.5mm will be very useful for customers.

We expect Apple will bundle the adapter with the package to satisfy customers. You need not have to expect lightning-based headphones with the package.

iPhone 7 Specifications and Release Date

On the specifications front, the iPhone 7 will be equipped with a 4.7-inch LED IPS display, Apple A10 processor, 2GB RAM, up to 128GB internal storage, 12MP/5MP camera, and 1960mAh battery.

Apple will most likely ditch the 16GB storage variant to replace with the 32GB model. You can also expect a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button alongside 3D touch display.

There are reports that Apple will start accepting pre-orders for the new iPhone from September 9. Sometimes, Apple will bundle lightning earphones or Bluetooth-enabled wireless headphones for all pre-orders to attract people to buy the new device.
