Apple iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus pre-orders tipped to start from September 9

Pre-orders for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus could begin from Sept 9th, claimed Evan Blass. The revelation comes on the back of a few other such predictions made by Blass claiming the new iPhone would be launched during the starting Sept. 12. That was followed by another tweet from @evleaks mentioning the retail launch of the iPhone 7 series would be happening on Sept. 16.

“Confirmed: Pre-orders start on the 9th. You can extrapolate the launch event date from there,” Blass tweeted.

The general trend with Apple is that they launch iPhone on a Tuesday or Wednesday with pre-orders kicking off on the following Friday. The Cupertino giant also generally allows a weeks’ time between the actual launch and the pre-order process. As such, it will be interesting to see if the same trend is being followed this year as well or if there is something new to look forward to.

That said, the hype surrounding the launch of a new iPhone is remarkably less this time round. That is understandable considering there aren’t any exciting new feature to look forward to the new iPhone 7, save for the replacement of the headphone jack with a new stereo speaker slot and such.

Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Specs

That apart, the bigger iPhone 7 Plus is touted to come with a new dual camera system at the rear, with both being of 12 MP resolution. Also, one of the two cams will also have digital zooming feature as well as per latest rumors on this.

Instead, Apple is believed to offer a significant upgrade over the current or forthcoming iPhone device with the next year’s iteration. Rumors mongers also predict it would be iPhone 8 and not an iPhone 7S as the trend usually is.

For Apple, adopting a new number would serve to denote it being more of a completely new iPhone device rather than an incremental upgrade over an existing version. Also, a new number would be more befitting to it coming during the 10th anniversary of the iPhone rather than an ‘S’ version.

Meanwhile, Apple also has a few more of its hardware line-up that is due for an upgrade. That includes the MacBook range along with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. While new versions of both segments are expected to be launched in the coming fall season, it will be interesting to see if there is a new 9.7-inch iPad Air version launched or if it has already reached the end of the road.
