Android 7.0 Nougat will most likely be unveiled on August 5. According to a tweet posted by Evan Blass, the new Android platform will be released with 8/5 security patch, which signals the release of the new Android platform on that date.
Blass revelations can be believed to some extent since he has a great reputation of providing credible leaks before official release.
Recently, Google released Android N Developer Preview 5, which is considered to be the final lap before the new platform goes for public consumption.

The preview 5 has integrated system images for Nexus including other popular devices, emulator for testing your app before uploading to Play Store. Moreover, the preview also includes final APL level 24, system behaviors, new UI, bug fixes in addition to several optimizations across the system and in pre-installed apps.
Android 7.0 Nougat Features
The upcoming Android Nougat will focus on graphics and improved runtime performance. The new Vulkan 3D graphics API consumes only a few resources. Moreover, it enables developers you to fetch more graphics detail into frames.
The new Android platform will also feature JIT compiler, which is capable of enhanced app installations. It also reduces the compiled code by 50 percent including optimizing battery and overall memory consumption. Even though Android M has integrated Doze functionality, the new Android 7.0 Nougat will have enhanced Doze mode.
Talking about security, the Android Nougat will offer file-based encryption, media framework hardening including the ability to download updates silently in the background. The required update will be installed upon the next reboot.
However, the new update system will only work if you have smartphone pre-loaded with Android Nougat. This is because it requires two system images instead of one in the currently available devices.
Some of the other features likely to the included with Android Nougat are direct reply feature, improved multi-tasking, the addition of multi-window with split screen, picture in picture and Java 8. The new Android platform will also integrate Daydream VR technology.
With Android 7.0 Nougat, you will be able to group multiple notifications from the same app. Moreover, Doze mode will save battery life to a large extent when the display is turned off.
Android 7.0 Nougat: Use of Swift
There are reports that Google is planning to make use of Swift to develop Android. But we are not expecting it in the Nougat since it requires heavy coding work.
Exclusive Google Smartphone
If rumors are to be believed, Google is working on to design and manufacture its own Android smartphone. The new device will be capable of getting new updates quicker than other handsets.
