A new set of images has surfaced on the web, which shows how the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 would look like. While some rumors suggest that the Apple of China will bring on the affordable Redmi 4, others suggest that the company will indeed launch the Mi Note 2. There are speculations that Xiaomi may even unveil their first smartwatch at the event which will be held in Beijing. Sporting a dual curved display, the upcoming flagship phablet will compete with the likes of Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 7. The specification of the forthcoming Mi Note 2 was leaked by a Weibo user yesterday.
It has been way more than a year after Xiaomi released the Mi Note Pro. Since then, the company mainly focussed on mid-range phablets. But, as the demand for premium devices in the phablet segment increased, the company has started to lose its ground. This may force the smartphone-maker to launch a brand new flagship device to regain its lost market share. The next flagship phablet of the company is rumored to come with top notch features and specifications.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Rumored Specs
According to the leaked information, the upcoming handset will come with a wraparound OLED display with dual curved edges. The screen will most probably be sourced from Samsung and sport a QHD (1440 x 2560) resolution. Even though the tipster claims the display size to be 5.5-inch, it will almost certainly be larger with at least 5.7-inch diagonal size. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is expected to feature on the Mi Note 2.
The latest Snapdragon 821 will presumably sit inside the upcoming powerhouse. The quad core 64-bt processor comes with four Kyro cores with two of them running at 2.4 GHz each and other two clocked at 2.0 GHz each. An overclocked Adreno 530 will look after the graphics. The forthcoming phablet will be fully equipped with a massive 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM combined with up to 128 GB of internal storage.
The Mi Note 2 is expected to sport a dual camera set-up at the rear. This will be Xiaomi’s second smartphone to come with a dual camera after the Redmi Pro. While the latter had the two camera placed one above another, the Note 2 will come with two camera positioned side by side at the top right end of the phone. The fingerprint sensor of the upcoming smartphone will be integrated with the home button similar to Xiaomi’s Mi 5.
The Mi Note 2 is expected to be priced at around 2499 yuan or Rs. 25000 for the 64 GB storage variant and the 128 GB version will cost about 2799 yuan or Rs. 28,000. Both the variants will sport the same 6 GB RAM.
