Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch leak confirms Tizen OS, codenamed Solis

Samsung is reportedly working on its next generation Gear S3 smartwatch codenamed “Solis”, as per a reputed tech portal reporting all things Samsung. Since “Solis” translates into Sun in Spanish, tech enthusiasts have been wondering whether the upcoming smartwatch will be equipped with features which have something to do with light.

If rumors are to be believed, Samsung Gear S3 will offer an advanced display with improved sunlight readability coupled with Tizen operating system. However, sources close to Samsung claims that the Gear S3 will sport a circular watch face design and a built-in flashlight.

You need not have to expect a rectangular design since Samsung would not like to manufacture a wearable device, which looks like a mini computer. Hence, a classic design coupled with the rotating bezel for easy navigation would be a great choice for customers.

Expected to be featured with Samsung’s Tizen operating system, the Samsung Gear S3 will bear model numbers SM-R760, SM-R765, SM-R770, SM-R765V, and SM-R765S. Moreover, the device will include an updated user interface.

Even though we don’t have complete specifications, we expect Gear S3 to ship with several new features than its previous counterpart. We can also expect a larger display since the Gear S2‘s 1.2-inch display was too small. Moreover, if Samsung decides to retain the same display size, it will be very small for the users to operate the device using touch. According to reports, the upcoming Samsung Gear S3 will be available on both Verizon and Sprint models. However, the models shipped to Asian countries will be unlocked versions.

Launched in September 2015 at the IFA Expo, the Samsung Gear S2 was codenamed Orbis (Latin: Orbit) and the device shipped with a rotating bezel. Hence, the current naming of “Solis” will have something to do with the upcoming Gear S3 device. We expect Samsung to launch Gear S3 smartwatch in September with a price between Rs. 25000 to Rs. 30000 because of the integration of advanced features.
