OnePlus 3 will be launched inside The Loop virtual space station on June 14 at 9.30 AM PDT (10 PM IST). Exclusively designed to provide the audience with a 360-degree amazing viewing experience, the launch event will be available inside Loop VR headsets distributed by the company to nearly 30,000 fans. Moreover, you can also watch the launch event without the headset but you will not be able to leverage the full potential of the actual launch with effects.
According to company sources, the device will be available for sale immediately after the launch event with first few units reserved for orders made from within the Loop VR headset. However, the company revealed that customers need not have to possess an invite to buy OnePlus 3.
Design
Even though the design of OnePlus One and OnPlus 2 were similar, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has already confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 3 will bear a new design. According to rumors, OnePlus 3 will feature a high-quality design with slightly curved metal body in a silver color, an oblong home button and antenna bands at the top and bottom. The initial looks suggest that the device will be more or less similar to that of HTC 10.
Specifications
As per the information available on the China’s official regulatory agency TENAA, the OnePlus 3 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage loaded with Android Marshmallow. You can also expect the integration of NFC support in OnePlus 3, which was ditched in the previous counterpart.
While the rear camera will be equipped with a 16MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash, the front-facing snapper is equipped with an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and FHD recording capability. A 3000mAh or 3650mAh battery with fast charging technology completes the package.
There are rumors that OnePlus 3 will be available in three variants and will not accompany a 4GB RAM. The 2GB RAM model will be equipped with 16GB storage and the 3GB RAM will be packed with a 32GB storage, to beat the likes of LeEco Le 2. The high-end 6GB RAM variant, expected to be priced higher, will be burned with a 64GB storage chip.
Price
OnePlus 3 will be available starting at $349 for the base model. We don’t have any confirmation as to whether the base model will offer 3GB or 4GB RAM. The price for the premium 64GB model will go up to $425, which is approximately Rs. 28,000.
