Samsung launched the flagship Galaxy S7, Galaxy Edge handsets in India. Priced at Rs. 48900 for Galaxy S7 (32GB) and Rs. 56900 for Galaxy S7 Edge (32GB), Samsung will also offer free GearVR headset to users who pre-order the phones between March 8 to 17. However, the devices will be available for sale on March 18.

Meanwhile, Samsung did not disclose the pricing information for the 64GB variant of both handsets.
As with other similar premium smartphones, the expectations are high because of the integration of a new powerful Exynos 8890 processor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the addition of Always on Display alongside 4GB RAM for both Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
Commenting on the launch of the new handsets, Dr Balvinder Singh, Vice President, Samsung R&D said the new dual-pixel feature enable users to capture amazing selfies in low light conditions including addition of motion panorama and spotlight.
Moreover, the integration of the handsets with GearS2 and GearVR provide a rich user experience. He also revealed that few parts of the camera are developed in India.
While Samsung Galaxy S7 boasts a 5.1-inch Quad HD (1440×2560, 577ppi) Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy S7 Edge equally comes with the same resolution display but with an increased screen size of 5.5-inches with 534ppi. Moreover, the Galaxy S7 comes with a flat front with the Edge variant featuring a curved front using a unique 3D Thermoforming process.
Talking about specifications, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge comes with Exynos 8890 processor, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32 internal storage (expandable up to 200GB), Always-On Display, IP68 water and dust-resistant capabilities.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets equip a dual pixel 12-megapixel rear F1.7 aperture camera with Smart OIS and dual-pixel technology alongside 5-megapixel front camera with F1.7 aperture.
Both Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge features a glass-metal design with the curved rear, but the handsets are slightly thicker than its previous counterparts.
With Hybrid SIM tray, users can use as both dual-SIM and expandable storage. Moreover, users can access apps quickly without unlocking the phone with the help of the much debated Always On Display in addition to a dedicated game launcher.
On the connectivity front, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge equip LTE Cat 9 connectivity for better network performance. Samsung Galaxy S7 has a 3000mAH battery while Galaxy S7 Edge packs in a 3600mAh battery.
Samsung also integrated liquid cooling technology to address issues related to heating during high-end gaming.

Both Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge come bundled with battery pack, flip wallet, LED view cover and wireless charger stand.
