iOS 10.2 update to fix Phone app freeze issue on iPhone 7, iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s

Apple is scheduled to roll out iOS 10.2, which will provide bug fix to the phone app freezing issues on iPhone 7, iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s. The iPhone 6 users are facing problems with recording touch inputs on the display. Incidentally, few users have started to file class action suit against the Cupertino-based tech giant. However, you can repair the abnormal touch activity for $149.

When Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploded causing severe injuries and burns, many tech geeks were optimistic about Apple iPhone. However, the situation is grim for Apple as well. This is because users have already started to report several issues with iPhone 7, iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s.

A user named BingoBones has revealed that the phone app in iPhone 7 with iOS 10.1.1 has started to freeze. He had to force close the app by double clicking the physical home button. He also asks whether this problem is faced by any user.

iPhone 6s shutting down abnormally

There are reports that few iPhone 6s handsets manufactured between September and October 2015 are randomly shutting down. There are reports that the battery capacity is going down from 30 percent to zero percent within minutes. If you experience the battery drain problem, you are eligible for a free battery replacement.

Customers reporting phone app freeze problems

If you scan through the Apple Support Communities forum, you will be able to find that the customers of the recently launched iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 5s have posted complaints that the apps inside the phone are freezing. Hence, users are unable to make any phone calls. It has become virtually impossible for them to handle phone related operations.

Soft and hard reset not a fix

According to customers on the support forum, the problem started after the handset was updated to iOS 10.1.1. However, few users started to face the problem after an update to iOS 10. Even though soft and factory resets are available, they are of no help to customers.

As of writing this, Apple has not yet confirmed the presence of the problem. We expect the problem will be fixed in iOS 10.2. Apple has started to push iOS 10.2 Beta 5 for developers of the public beta program. Hence, you can expect the arrival of iOS 10.2 within the next few days.
