Google has unveiled the much-awaited Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones with Snapdragon 821 processor and 4GB RAM starting at Rs. 57000. Launched at a global event in San Francisco, the company has launched two smartphones in both 32GB and 128GB internal storage capacities. Even though you will be able to pre-order the phones in India from October 13, the actual availability will be from October 20.
In the US, the Pixel handset is available at $649 and Pixel XL at $749. This means you can expect the price of Pixel XL at Rs. 65000. In India, both Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will be exclusive to Flipkart in the online segment. Moreover, the new Pixel and Pixel XL will also be available across all major retail stores, which include Reliance Digital, Croma and Vijay sales.

While fans had to wait for over one month in India to experience iPhone 7, Google has launched the new Pixel and Pixel XL in the first batch of six countries. You will be able to buy the Pixel handsets in black and silver color. The blue color will not be available in India, to begin with.

Commenting on the launch, Rick Osterloh, chief of Google’s hardware division disclosed that the company designed all the ingredients of the new Pixel right from industrial design to software. He added that the Pixel stands for designed by Google.
Features
Google has redesigned the app interface with round icons and a swipe-up app drawer. The handset also ships with Google Assistant integration, Daydream VR-compatibility, Google Duo. We expect an update soon with Google Allo pre-loaded on the phone. The new Pixel and Pixel XL are manufactured using aluminum unibody with polished glass on the rear. It stretches till the Pixel Imprint fingerprint sensor.

Talking about imaging, the Pixel ships with a 12MP rear sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1.55µm, EIS coupled with 8MP front-facing snapper. The phone also offers a fingerprint sensor loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat and Android Assistant.
Designed using full metal unibody, the Google Pixel delivers a talk time of 32 hours and 552 hours of standby time. Moreover, the handset also ships with a 2770mAh battery with fast charging capability, which enables you to get 7 hours of talk time in 15 minutes.

Google Pixel XL features a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display with a high pixel density of 534PPI, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat and fingerprint sensor. This handset is available in both 32GB and 128GB internal storage capacities.

While the rear camera offers 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and EIS, the front-facing snapper comes with 8MP sensor. The main attraction of Pixel XL is the addition of 3450mAh battery which can deliver a talk time of 26 hours. Moreover, you will be able to get 7 hours of talk time with just 15 minutes of charging.

In addition to Pixel smartphones, Google also launched a Daydream VR headset ($79) manufactured using micro fibre for added comfort. The headset also features a controller to present engaging VR content. Furthermore, Google also launched a new Chromecast Ultra ($69) with support for the 4K resolution.
