Xiaomi commonly referred to as ‘Apple of China’ is rapidly creating a stir in the mobile market across the globe. The company showcased its first Mi Note and Mi Note Pro Smartphones just few days back and now is ready to launch another highly-awaited model in India.
Final Confirmation Date
The company first set its footprint in India in July last year with the announcement of the launch of Mi 3. The unprecedented demand for Xiaomi’s phones on Flipkart stunned the company itself, which was shyly sitting on expectations of selling few thousand units. Eventually, India became the next largest market to Xiaomi after China.
The craze for Xiaomi phones in India has been so motivating that the company has confirmed reports of Mi 4 launch here on January 28. The company’s earlier efforts to launch Mi 4 in India were unsuccessful due to regulatory hurdles and clearing issues. Initially, Manu Jain, Operations Head of Mi India had indicated that the Mi 4 phones will be rolled out towards the end of the month. Later, Xiaomi’s Head of International Operations, Hugo Barra specifically told the Economic Times that the launch date will be January 8.
Mobile Features
Xiaomi’s Mi 4 will come packed with super exciting features like 5-inch IPS display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone uses 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and will give the option of either 16 GB or 64 GB internal storage space. It will have 3GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera along with Sony Exmor R Sensor. Android 1.4.3 KitKat will come pre-installed with the device along with the MIUI OS skin.
The device weighs just 149 grams and will have connectivity options og 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The company has not yet disclosed the price of the model while it will roll out the devices through Flipkart, like its earlier phone launches.
