Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is actually Redmi Pro, launch confirmed on July 27

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Pro at the launch event on July 27. There have been many rumours about the upcoming Xiaomi launch event. Many of which suggested that Redmi Note 4 and a brand new Xiaomi Notebook may be announced.

Now we have got confirmation that the Redmi device presumed to launch will not be named Redmi Note 4 nor Redmi 4, it will only be called as the Redmi Pro. In Weibo, the famous microblogging website in China, Xiaomi has just added a new event named Redmi Pro which is said to launch on July 27. The company also mentioned that the event which will be held at Beijing National Convention Centre is intended for the launch of new Xiaomi devices.

The naming Redmi Pro in place of the conventional Redmi 3 Pro may indicate that the device will have a class of its own. Recently, there has been numerous leaks and speculations about the specifications of the upcoming Redmi device. Considering which we can expect that the Redmi Pro will come with class-leading internals.

The handset is presumed to feature the powerful deca-core Mediatek Helio X25 or X20 combined with 4GB of RAM. It can almost certainly be predicted that the device will run MIUI 8 on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

There is not much information about the front or rear camera of the upcoming handset. A few days ago, some rumours surfaced speculating a new Xiaomi smartphone with a dual-camera setup. The Redmi Pro may come out to be the rumoured device, with a dual rear camera setup.

There is no information regarding the pricing of the forthcoming smartphone. Although, Xiaomi’s Redmi range of smartphones is pretty much known to provide some of the best price to performance ratio in the market. Considering which, we may assume that the new Redmi Pro may be priced somewhere around 150 USD or Rs. 10,000.
