Vodafone combats Reliance Jio Happy New Year offer with double 4G data

After Reliance Jio established its presence in Indian mobile market, several competitors have started to explore how they can beat the competition. The latest in the lineup is Vodafone. The company has started to offer double data 4G usage for all existing plans above Rs. 255. The new double data scheme has virtually slashed the prices of all plans by 50 percent.

According to telecom analysts, Vodafone is not in a position to lose market share after the huge popularity of Reliance Jio. The extension of free services to March 31 by Reliance Jio is also considered as a primary reason for the launch of new double data plan by Vodafone.

In a statement released by the company, Vodafone disclosed that all 4G prepaid customers will be able to avail Double Data benefits on the currently available packages. This will enable Vodafone customers to experience an improved mobile experience. The double data offer is applicable for all 4G packages starting from Rs. 255.

Vodafone 4G data offer

As per the Double Data offer, Vodafone customers will be eligible to get 2GB 4G data for Rs. 255 instead of 1GB. In the same way, if you avail Rs. 450 plan, you will get 6GB data. In the case of Rs. 559 plan, you will be eligible to get 8GB 4G data. You will get a massive 20GB and 40GB 4G data if you avail Rs. 999 and Rs. 1999 plan respectively. There is no change in the validity of the data plans and it will be 28 days.

Commenting on the development, Apoorva Mehrotra, Business Head, Delhi NCR revealed that the company is confident that the latest value offering will enhance mobile internet experience for our customers. Moreover, the new double data offer will enable customers to experience the world of Vodafone SuperNet4G to the fullest.

To recall, Reliance Jio has extended 4G free services until March 31, 2017. Previously, the Welcome offer was about to end on December 31 for those customers who get a Jio SIM before December 3.

However, Mukesh Ambani during his recent speech extended the free offer until March 31, 2017 by announcing a new plan. As part of the free offer, Reliance Jio provides free voice, data, and messaging services. The company had a fierce battle with Airtel regarding the allocation of interconnection points. TRAI, meanwhile, has given a clean chit to Reliance Jio.
