Samsung’s most ambitious flagship; the Galaxy S8 which was launched right after the Note7 fiasco is a great comeback for Samsung and put the company right where it was. Both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are currently running on Android 7.0 Nougat, but it looks like Samsung is already aggressively working on the Android 8.0 Oreo update with new improved Galaxy U.I on top. Samsung Pay gets Android 8.0 Oreo support which gives away the fact that the company is on the verge of releasing the update.
SamMobiles have noticed the firmware which is labeled G950FXXE1ZQI7 and G955FXXU1ZQI7 for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ respectively. The beta version is expected to be made available very soon before the final version rolls out for the public. However, there is no official date from Samsung nor Google; we don’t have the final list of phones or tablets that will get the update either so that it will remain a mystery at the moment. Given the company’s history, it will most probably push the beta version in the next four-five weeks and will land for S8 and S8 Plus initially, but it might also roll out for S7, S7 Edge and there is a possibility that S6, S6 Edge will also get the update.
Now we are not very sure about the feature that Samsung would roll out apart from Oreo features along with the 8.0 update, but it is certain that it will be heavily customized. Stay tuned for more details.
