Samsung Galaxy S8 launched in India- said to be the savior flagship

Samsung has launched its flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India at its exclusive launch event in New Delhi. Both the smartphones were unveiled globally last month.

With a display of 5.8-inch, the S8 is powered by a 1.9 GHz octa-core processor (Samsung Exynos 8895). The first thing that one would notice about the smartphone is the infinity display. This one has an edge-to-edge display with no physical buttons (as was rumoured). The other specialty about the display is that the aspect ratio is 18:5:9. Combine this with Samsung’s AMOLED display and you have something to look at.

The front has no buttons, the home option is a pressure sensitive spot at the bottom center of the front.

The 4GB RAM is just customary for a smooth performance that we expect from the South Korean maker.

The internal memory, as expected is clocked up to 64GB and it can be expanded upto 256Gb via a microSD card.

With a battery of 3,000 mAh, the phone weighs 155 grams.

Moving on to more important things, the S8 and S8 Plus has a virtual assistant, Bixby. That’s right, Siri and Cortana might soon get a run for their money as Samsung has also entered the virtual assistant game. It can not only respond to touch and sound, but also has the ability to translate to 52 different languages.

As far as the camera is concerned, the numbers should not be any criteria to judge with Samsung. However, if curiosity must have it, the rear packs a dual-pixel 12MP camera and the front camera is 8MP.

Key Specs (S8)

Feature Specification
Display 5.8-inch
Battery 3000 mAh
Rear camera 12MP
Front camera 8MP
Processor Samsung Exynos 8895
OS Android Nougat 7.0
RAM 4GB

The S8 has a lot more to offer than just its specs. The Note 7 fiasco may have left Samsung with nothing but billions in losses, but they sure do have a lot of hopes with this one.
