Samsung Galaxy S8 release date pushed to April 2017

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to cost 20 percent more than the currently available Galaxy S7 due to the addition of an enhanced AI-based digital assistant. According to reports, the premium handset will hit retail shelves lately than the scheduled date.

The latest rumors suggest that the company is planning to host a special event in New York in April. Previously, it was rumored that the upcoming handset will be showcased during the Mobile World Congress 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 price expectations

Based on a report released by Goldman Sachs, you will be required to pay 15 to 20 percent extra for the handset. The main reason for the increase in the price is attributed to the improved AI-based digital assistant, which will make entry with the launch of Galaxy S8.

The analyst firm confirms the fact that integration of new feature will affect the raw material prices, which will be ultimately passed to the consumers. We infer that the Galaxy S8 will most likely cost above $950. If you look at the Galaxy S7 edge, the handset is available for $799.

If rumors are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a relocated fingerprint sensor. Moreover, the upcoming phone will not be equipped with a physical home button. The primary focus will be on the integrated AI assistant, which will automatically deliver results based on your voice input. The new assistant tool will more or less resemble Google Allo.

It looks like Samsung is going Apple way by removing the traditional 3.5mm headphone port. If this turns out to be true, you can expect a USB Type-C port, which will function not only as a power source but also deliver audio. If you worked with LeEco Le 2, then you need not have to think anymore.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.7-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 5 SAMOLED display, Snapdragon 830/Exynos 8895 processor, 6GB RAM, 64/128 GB internal storage loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. On the optics front, the rear camera will offer a dual 12MP sensor coupled with an 8MP front-facing shooter. We don’t have any confirmation about the expected battery capacity. The handset will be available in Black, White, Gold, Silver, and Pink Gold color variants.
