Samsung Galaxy Note 7 goes official: Curved display, Iris scanner, Gorilla Glass 5

Samsung has officially brought out its Galaxy Note 7 flagship. The 5.7-inch smartphone comes with the much-anticipated features like USB Type-C, Iris scanner, Samsung Cloud etc. The smartphone will be up for pre-orders from tomorrow i.e. August 3 and will be available from August 19.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Specs and Features

The Galaxy Note 7 sports a 5.7-inch display dual-curved quad HD Super AMOLED display and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The dual-curved display is different from that on the S7 Edge. The processor powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 in the US (Exynos processor for other markets), 4GB RAM, along with quick charging support.

The internal storage capacity of the Note 7 is 64GB, which can be expandable via MicroSD card slot. The battery juicing the device is 3500mAh, which is greater than Note 5’s 3000mAh battery. Optics of the smartphone stands at 12MP shooter with f/1.7 lens with optical image stabilization. The smartphone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which the company said would be updated to Android 6.0 Nougat.

Coming on to the distinctive features of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the high-end smartphone comes with a new feature called Samsung Pass, Samsung Cloud for data backup, Knox for device security, and more. The Iris scanner is first on the Samsung device that lets you unlock the phone with your eyes. The company claims that the new Note is 30% more powerful than its predecessor.

The S Pen is more improved on the Galaxy Note 7 and can sense pressure twice as fine as the previous iteration. The S Pen along with the smartphone is water resistant. The stylus comes with few features like translation tool, a magnifying tool, and more.

Along with Galaxy Note 7, Samsung introduced that Gear Fit 2 that keep track of your steps. The company is offering free Gear Fit 2 or 256GB MicroSD on the purchase of Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Price and Colors

The smartphone will be available in three color options – Black, silver, and blue coral. The recent Note flagship will be priced around $770 to $800. Meanwhile, India launch date has also been revealed and the smartphone will be coming on August 11 this month. The roll out will start later this month.
