Samsung has just launched the much-awaited Galaxy Note 7 flagship with several interesting features. With this year’s Galaxy Note, the company focussed more on refinement than upgrading the horsepower. The Note 7 comes with the identical internals of the Galaxy S7, but with a host of other improvements. Let’s check out the Galaxy Note 7 features.
Curved Display
The brand new flagship from Samsung comes with a wraparound display. This display has a tighter curve but less sloping in comparison to the Galaxy S7 Edge. On paper, the display has similar specifications to the previous S7 Edge.
The main attraction of the screen is that it is the first smartphone to feature HDR (High Dynamic Range) capability. This technology dramatically improves the display quality of the device. The Note 7 can render some of the most optimized colors and brightness perceivable by human eyes.
Built Quality
Samsung has put a good amount of attention to the build quality of its newest flagship. The Note 7 is the first smartphone in the world to sport the Gorilla Glass 5. This makes the handset immune to shoulder height drops most of the time.
The Gorilla Glass is proved to survive drops from a height of 1.6 meters on hard concrete surfaces almost 80 percent of the time. This glass also provides better resistance to scratches and pressures. The back of the Note 7 is constructed by a more durable 7000 series aluminum.
Symmetrical Construction
The latest smartphone from Samsung boasts an absolutely symmetrical body. The newest Note is accurately symmetrical from front to back, top to bottom and side to side. The phone is also quite resistant to damages from dust and water, and comes with IP68 certification. The S Pen also bears the same certificate.
Iris Scanner
A new type of biometric verification method has its presence in the Galaxy Note 7. The Iris scanner of the smartphone offers unmatchable security to the device. It is arguably much more secure than any of the current security systems in smartphones. Every human being comes with two unique Iris patterns in both their eyes. The Note 7 scans both the Iris of an individual to provide the ultimate privacy protection. This Iris scanner is fool proof and also works in low lighted areas.
USB 3.1 Type-C
This is Samsung’s first smartphone to rope in a USB Type-C version 1.0 USB port. The Note 7 will feature much-improved transfer speeds and enhanced charging capabilities. The USB-C port is rapidly becoming the standard in the technology world.
The new S Pen is also revamped with better sensitivity and more accuracy. It is also reduced in thickness and the side button placement has also been improved. The signature Note 7 stylus also comes with GIF creating capability. This time, Samsung has solved the issue in which the S Pen got stuck in its compartment when reversely inserted.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with increased battery with a capacity of 3500mAH with improved fast charging ability. On top of all these, the phone carries all the good things of the Galaxy S7 series. Samsung is expected to launch the Note 7 in India on 11th August. In the US, the phone is available for pre-order from today and will be available on 19th this month.
The smartphone comes with four color options which are Gold Platinum, Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Blue Coral. The Note 7 is priced just a little bit above the price of the Galaxy S7 Edge.
