Reliance JioPhone all you need to know

Reliance today officially revealed the JioPhone in India for free effectively, it comes coupled with the Reliance Jio plans. JioPhone is a basic feature phone with some feature which we never thought of and didn’t get revealed in any leaks. Reliance launched this feature phone on its 40th anniversary to make 2G connectivity in India obsolete. The pre-booking for this feature phone will start from 24th August and will start shipping later in September.

The JioPhone comes with 2.4 inches QVGA display and all the Jio suit apps like JioTV, JioMusic, and JioCinema comes pre-installed. JioPhone is not just another feature phone; it comes with many more features than a budget smartphone. It supports voice commands in English as well as in Hindi.

The JioPhone also has an SOS feature which sends your location with a distress message to selected numbers just by pressing number 5 for few seconds. Reliance is also working on to integrate local police and another emergency number to this list. It also comes with a Modi app integrated where you can listen to Modi’s “man Ki Baat”.

The JioPhone will also get support for tap and pay using NFC communications; you can add your bank accounts using the app on this phone. The price of the JioPhone is technically zero rupees, but you have to pay a security amount of Rs 1,500 which is refundable after 36 months. Rest of the features and specs of the phone are, an alphanumeric keyboard, 4-way navigation, compact design, 2.4 inches QVGA display, SD card slot, headphone jack, call history, torch light, and FM Radio.
