Reliance Jio ‘free voice calls for life’ offer gets clean chit from TRAI

According to TRAI, Reliance Jio does not violate any guidelines with respect to free voice calls for subscribers offered by the company. However, the regulator categorically stated that the company should conclude the promotional offer with a wide range of services including data at no extra cost by the end of 2016.

In a statement, TRAI stated that the pricing plans outlined by Reliance Jio are not “predatory” as complained by Airtel and Vodafone. Meanwhile, the Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio has confirmed that it will end free Preview offer on December 31. After January 1, 2017, customers should recharge to continue to avail offers.

Reliance Jio free preview offer for customers till December 3

To reap the benefits of Reliance Jio, you should avail free Jio SIM card on or before December 3. You will not be able to get free preview offer benefit if you purchase Reliance Jio SIM after December 3. Hence, the free offer of the company is said to be in compliance with a 90-day limit for promotional schemes.

Commenting on the development, Jio said that the decision of the regulator is a big win for the company. The company revealed that the main aim of Reliance Jio is to fulfil the Digital India initiatives. Hence, they have introduced free voice calling for Local, STD and National roaming for all times.

Jio, launched in September is currently offering free voice calls. This effectively means that the company has to absorb the cost of 14 paise per minute for each call placed by its users to another network. During the launch event, Ambani added that Jio subscribers would get free voice calls “for life” that are Internet-based.

Reliance Jio 1GB data costs Rs. 50 after January 1

Right now, Jio is offering unlimited 4G LTE mobile broadband until December 31, which includes both voice and data. To continue with the Jio service, you will have to pay Rs. 50 for 1GB of data. If you compare the rates of Reliance Jio with competitors, you will be able to know Reliance rates are comparatively very less.

Ambani mainly started Jio with a target to grab 100 million customers in the shortest possible time.
