Reliance Jio has decided to provide free voice calls, 20GB data and unlimited SMS for one year from the date of activation to all new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users. According to a statement issued by the Mukesh Ambani-controlled company, the total value of the entire freebies amounts to Rs. 18000.
Reliance Jio already offers free welcome plan till December 31, 2016, to all new 4G smartphone customers. This scheme is also applicable for iPhone 7 users. However, if you purchased iPhone 7, you will be able to extend the welcome plan until December 31, 2017, from the fist of January.
Free Rs. 1499 plan for iPhone 7 customers
According to sources, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users will be able to get the Rs. 1499 plan free for one year without any conditions. The plan consists of unlimited local and STD voice calling and national roaming, 4G Data of up to 20 GB, unlimited 4G data at night, 40GB of WiFi data, unlimited SMS and unlimited Jio Apps subscription. Hence, users will be able to get 15 months of Jio services free for new iPhone customers.
Free plan available to iPhone 6 and iPhone SE as well
Reliance Jio had gone one step ahead and announced that the complimentary one year of 4G service will be valid not only on iPhone 7 but also on iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE. Moreover, enterprise clients will able to get a 25 percent discount on the newly launched iPhone 7 with attractive tariff plans.
Reliance Jio started its 4G services on August 15. They currently have a market share of 100% 2G, 50% 3G, and 10% 4G respectively. As per the new plan, Apple fans on Jio network can enjoy 100 percent 4G data experience which includes VoLTE enabled HD voice calls, HD Facetime calls, buffer-free HD video viewing and 300 channels of Live TV.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio’s rival Airtel is also providing 10GB of free 4G/3G data per month for one year from the activation date under Airtel Infinity post-paid plan.
In the meantime, e-commerce major Snapdeal has established a partnership with American Express to offer a discount of Rs. 10000 if iPhone 7 was purchased using their credit cards.
Apple iPhone 7 comes in 4.7-inch HD and 5.5-inch FHD display variants with 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage variants. The main attraction of iPhone 7 is the elimination of the traditional headphone jack to accommodate lightning port.
