The entry-level variant will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor bundled with 3GB of RAM. The mid-range variant will reportedly get a whopping 6GB of RAM. Microsoft Surface Phone Rumored Specs

Other rumored specs include a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, USB Type-C connectivity along with liquid cooling technology. In addition, these devices are expected to get a 20MP Carl Zeiss rear camera along with Surface Pen functionality. They’ll run Windows 10 Mobile with support for the Continuum feature, which essentially allows the phone to be used like a desktop.

While just last week, Indian based software developer Shubham Chemburkar posted images on Twitter of what appears to be placeholders for these upcoming Microsoft Surface devices. He reportedly captured these images while he was inside Building 88 at the company’s global headquarters in Redmond.

Microsoft Surface Phone Release Date

Reports suggest that these devices are expected to be launched before the end of 2017, which includes a wide range of Surface products. We also expect Microsoft to release the Surface Pro AIO along with the upcoming Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 and Surface Book.

Meanwhile, Tech Times reports that the upcoming Surface Phone will be primarily targeting corporate customers. As Microsoft’s earlier strategy of developing a smartphone targeted at budget buyers was a failure.

“[W]e’ll lead with some high end and category innovation like we’ve done with Surface, and OEMs will go and build the breadth of the catalog,” said Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President for Windows Kevin Gallo, as quoted by Tech Times.

We don’t have any information about the pricing of the rumored Surface Phones, though we expect the base model to cost higher than other competing smartphones.

While earlier reports also revealed that Microsoft has been actively working on the rumored Surface Phone and will start manufacturing these devices as soon as Intel releases their next-gen Kaby Lake processors. The company is keen on integrating Kaby Lake processors as they consume less power without sacrificing on performance.

That being said, we advise our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt as Microsoft is yet to officially confirm the existence of these devices.
