LG V20 finally out with Android 7.0 Nougat and dual rear camera

LG V20

LG has unveiled the flagship V20 smartphone with Android Nougat out of the box and dual-rear cameras at an event in San Francisco in titan, silver and pink color variants. Touted to be the successor to V10 handset released in 2015, the LG V20 will be the first to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat. The LG V20 also ships with a dual-camera system paired with a second display located at the top of the phone. According to LG, the V20 offers an enhanced camera with a brighter second display with large font. The phone also retains the traditional headphone jack, although few manufacturers like Apple have started to phase it out.

Commenting on the launch, Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company disclosed that the LG V20 is designed to provide customers with a dynamic experience by integrating all the latest video and audio features. He said that V20 is designed to offer customers more of everything they love and less of anything they don’t need to set a new standard for premium smartphones. Cho added that V20 also features audiophile-grade features for music lovers with lossless file formats.

Expected to be available in Korea by the end of September, LG is also gearing up to launch the LG V20 in emerging markets like India. The smartphone is designed using AL6013 metal, which is used to build aircraft, sailboat and mountain bikes. LG claims that the handset has the capability to survive drops from a height of even four feet.

LG V20 Display

The LG V20 features a 5.7-inch IPS Quantum display in addition to a secondary display. It offers a 50 percent larger font size compared to the V10. Hence, you will be able to easily view notifications and alerts at a glance.

The newly incorporated Expandable Notifications feature enables you to tap a button on the second display to enlarge notifications. This will enable you to verify long messages easily. Moreover, you can quickly send a reply or share information.

LG V20 Performance and Storage

Talking about the internals, the LG V20 is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 3200mAh battery. The smartphone is available in both 32GB and 64GB internal storage variants with an ability to expand the storage to up to 256GB.

LG V20 Camera

While the rear camera is equipped with a 135-degree 8-megapixel lens coupled by 16-megapixel 75-degree lens, the front-facing snapper offers a 5-megapixel 120-degree sensor. The unique auto shot feature enables you to automatically capture selfies upon smiling. LG has integrated Laser, Phase, and Contrast autofocus technology.

With the optional Low Cut Filter (LCF) technology, the LG V20 provides an ability to remove unwanted background noise while recording audio. The presence of OIS 3.0 makes a good deal for the price.

LG V20 Audio features and Operating Platform

Audio fans can rejoice since the LG V20 ships with features such as 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, HD Audio Recorder, and B&O Play speakers. The phone also provides support for USB Type-C port which enables you to charge your device quickly.

LG V20 is the first device to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat. You will be able to enjoy all the latest features of the latest Android platform.

LG V20 Availability and Pricing

The LG V20 will be available from Best Buy and B&H in the third quarter. LG is also planning to sell the new phone by establishing partnerships with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint. As of this writing, we don’t have any information about the pricing. There are reports that LG has given full freedom for the carriers to decide the pricing.
