Xiaomi launched the much-awaited Mi Max at a grand event in New Delhi on June 30. The LeEco Le 2 is a premium flagship superphone launched by LeEco in June amidst much hype in various social media channels. While Mi Max features a large display of 6.44-inches, LeEco Le 2 offers a standard display size of 5.5-inch with fast charging support. In this article, we will compare the features and specifications of both devices.
Display
While Xiaomi Mi Max is equipped with a 6.44-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected FHD display with 342PPI, the Le 2 offers a 5.5-inch FHD In-cell Display alongside 403 PPI. As you can observe, the Le 2 offers higher slightly higher pixel density than Mi Max even though its display is smaller.
Performance
Xiaomi Mi Max is available in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 128GB expandable internal storage respectively. However, Xiaomi has only released 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant in India. The 3GB RAM variant includes Snapdragon 650 processor, while Snapdragon 652 processor powers the 4GB RAM model of Mi Max. In the case of Le 2, you have 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage at your disposal. Even LeEco Le Max2 (Rs. 22999) ships with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi Max features 16MP main camera coupled with f/2.0 aperture and 5MP front-facing snapper alongside f/2.0 aperture. Even though Le 2 offers 16MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, its front-facing shooter is equipped with an 8MP sensor paired with f/2.0 aperture, which is higher than what Mi Max offers.
Battery
Xiaomi Mi Max offers 4850mAh battery, which is higher than Le 2, which ships with a 3000mAh battery. Moreover, Le 2 features support for fast charging technology via USB Type-C port. You will be able to charge the device in less than one hour and 30 minutes.
Operating Platform
Both Xiaomi Mi Max and LeEco Le 2 ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. While Mi Max bundles MIUI 8 (will be generally available as a public beta from July 11), the Le 2 offers EUI interface.
Advanced Features
Both Xiaomi Mi Max and LeEco Le 2 include a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and Infrared port on the top side. You will be able to unlock the device easily using fingerprint sensor. Meanwhile, you can control your Television sets using Infrared port without depending upon your TV remote.
Le 2 ships with Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) technology with full metal unibody and Le Touch patented fingerprint technology for added security. Moreover, LeEco has integrated content in the form of movies, videos and Live TV in association with third-party service providers. For instance, you can watch Television channels from within Le 2 without depending upon your cable network, which is an added advantage.
Price
While Xiaomi Mi Max is available starting at Rs. 14,999 for 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage, the 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs. 19,999. However, the Le 2 is priced at Rs. 11999, which is higher than its previous counterpart Le 1s Eco.
Conclusion
As you can see from the above specifications, Mi Max ships with a large display but consists of decreased pixel density. In the case of Le 2, you have latest features like USB Type-C port for both power and audio including free one year of supertainment package. You will not be able to expand the internal storage of Le 2, which is disappointing since if you completely utilize the disk space, you are left with no other choice for storing content.
The big advantage of Mi Max is that you have 128GB storage space by default. Hence, you will be able to work with several apps and programs without an additional SD card. If you top up with 128GB SD card, you will get 256GB of storage space, which is massive for a smartphone.
