Huawei Honor 8 Initial Impressions: 12MP dual camera is impressive

Huawei has launched Honor 8 starting at Rs. 29,999. Dubbed as a successor to Honor 7, the Honor 8 features a 12MP dual rear camera similar to that of iPhone 7 Plus.

The phone offers a 5.2-inch FHD LTPS LCD, HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor paired with a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics and 4GB RAM. On the software front, the handset is pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on top of Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 UI.

Honor 8 is manufactured with a beautiful design with an elegant metal finish. The edges retain a metal finish, giving the smartphone an overall premium feel.

Performance and battery life

Honor 8 features a 1.8GHz octa-core Kirin 950 processor coupled with Mali-T880 graphics and 4GB RAM. Hence, you will be able to play games without any major heating issues.

Honor 8 Features

Enhanced camera

The Honor 8 sports a dual camera setup similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus. The two 12-megapixel cameras located at the rear doesn’t protrude out of the shell. You should note that both lenses sport a f/2.2 aperture. While one sensor captures monochrome images with high contrast, the other captures an RGB photo. Smart Key sensor

The smart key integrated with the sensor has the capability to perform a wide range of press and gesture-based functions. It is possible to manually configure functions of the Smart Key. If you swipe left and right on the sensor after opening the gallery, you will be able to scroll through photos. Moreover, swiping up and down will enable the notification bar to open and shut.

EMUI 4.1

The EMUI 4.1 integrated with the handset retains stock Android features such as Now on Tap including plenty of advanced customizations.

The company is providing extended warranty for 24 months and three months replacement warranty for accidental screen damage. Moreover, you will get three months replacement service for manufacturing defects with PAN India pick and drop service.
