Ringing Bells, the company behind the Freedom 251 smartphone, is all set venture into the growing television market. The Freedom 251 maker has sent out press invites for an event on 7th of July, where it will announce the Freedom HD LED TV and a new range of smartphones.
Ringing Bells launched the Freedom 251, the world’s cheapest Android smartphone in February this year. The delivery of the phones was supposed to start from June 30 but is now delayed until July 7. The company shocked everyone with its low pricing but was soon part of controversies and allegations.
Meanwhile, the launch of the new device by the Noida-based company comes in the midst of growing pessimism over Freedom 251. But the company now says that they are ready with 200,000 units of the cheapest smartphone.
The company claims that Freedom HD LED TV will be the most affordable 32-inch high-definition LED television and is reportedly be priced less than Rs. 10,000. Mohit Goel, Director, Ringing Bells said –
“These will be the cheapest television sets in India and will be available for less than Rs 10,000. Within two days, the delivery would be made and we will sell them online.”
The cheapest 32 inch LED TV available in the market now is priced at around Rs. 13000. So, a 32-inch Freedom HD LED TV by Ringing Bells priced under Rs. 10,000 should bring on a revolution in the pricing of the Indian Television market.
Ringing Bells have also mentioned in the press invite that it will also launch a new range of smartphones, the details of which is not out yet.
While it’s true that the cost of buying an LED television has dramatically come down, as for buying a big-size TV for the price of a smartphone, we’re not sure as to how Ringing Bells can truly manage the quality and quantity of the product.
