Asus ROG GX700 liquid cooling laptop available in India: Price and specs

Asus ROG GX700 which has the unique distinction of being the world’s first liquid-cooled notebook device is now on sale in India for a cool Rs. 4,12,990.

Apart from the premium hardware setup, the other distinctive quality of Asus ROG GX700 is its ROG-exclusive Hydro Overclocking System cooling module, which the company says is capable of dissipating 500W of heat, aided in no small measure by its twin 92mm radiators. The cooling module is also detachable, which means users have the option to operate the notebook depending on its native cooling mechanism alone.

Asus further explained the role of the Hydro Overclocking System is not just to keep the notebook cool but also allows for overclocking without worrying about getting the processor baked. The company backed its claims saying the external cooling module allows the CPU and RAM to be overclocked by up to 48 and 43 percent respectively.

That apart, the GX700 which forms part of the company’s Republic of Gamers series of gaming devices features top-notch specs like liquid cooling that are typical of any high-end gaming device. Those include an Intel Skylake Core i7-6820HK chip having a clock speed of 2.7GHz but can go up to 3.6GHz in turbo mode.

The rest of the specifications include a 17-inch 4K UHD display supported by NVIDIA G-SYNC tech for vibrant yet smooth pictures. The laptop also accompanies a special ROG-themed briefcase as well to match its exclusive appeal. Asus said the GX700 has limited stocks and is only available on orders made via official Asus India website.

Asus meanwhile has also taken the opportunity to launch the ROG Strix GL502 with slightly toned down internals and capability. Featuring an Intel Core i7-6800HQ chipset along with a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX970M GPU, the Strix GL502 also comes with a 15.6-inch 4K UHD display and is also priced a more comfortable Rs. 1,27,990.
