Apple iOS 10 Public Beta download for iPad, iPhone 5, 6 and 6S now available

Apple has officially released the iOS 10 beta to the general public. Hence, if you have access to an Apple iPhone 5 or higher, you can instantly download the new release and experience the new features included with the recently announced Apple’s mobile operating platform.

Even though iOS 10 beta is available to the public, Apple has warned that there will be bugs and users will not be able to experience the full potential of the final release.

To download the public beta, you need to navigate to the Apple Beta Software Program website and sign up for the beta. However, you can discontinue if you are not satisfied with the program. As soon as you enroll as the program member, you will be able to enroll your Mac or iOS device to download the relevant public beta releases.

The built-in feedback assistant included with each public beta enables you to provide feedback directly to the product team. The assistant will appear in your Dock on your Mac and on the second page of the Home screen on your iOS device. You can report software related issues directly to Apple with the help of Feedback Assistant.

The iOS 10 ships with a revamped lock screen, with which you will be able to unlock your smartphone with one press on the home button. You can also navigate to your home screen using another tap on the home button. If you slide to the left from any position on the lock screen, you will be able to open the camera app.

The newly released iOS 10 enables you to do more with 3D Touch especially when used on stock iOS apps. You will find the functionality of 3D Touch more useful on the control center such as opening three different levels of the flashlight.

Apple has added new features to iOS 10 such as integration of larger emoji and invisible ink. You can also deliver hidden messages, which enable the end-user to view the message upon scratching on it directly on the screen. It is also possible to add advanced background animations and hand-written messages.

Even though there will be minor bugs in the iOS 10 public beta, you can still download the release and test drive the new features. We would suggest you to install the beta release on a spare iPhone if you have one, instead of your primary device so that even if something goes wrong it will not affect your main device.

The iOS devices which are compatible with iOS 10 include iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPad Mini 2 and later, iPad 4th generation and later and iPod Touch 6th generation.
