Google officially rolled out the launch of Android 7.0 Nougat for Nexus devices. If you are currently using an iOS device, you can quickly jump to Android 7.0 device easily. Google has designed Android 7.0 Nougat in such a way that you will be able to migrate from iOS to Android without any difficulty. When you initially configure a new Android 7.0 powered smartphone, you will be provided with three options. If you select an option which says that you migrate to Android from iOS, you will be prompted to navigate to www.android.com/switch. You will be able to transfer your email, contacts, photos and much in addition to your favorite apps from the Google Play Store.
Even though your data from iOS device will be migrated to Android, the process is not seamless. For instance, if you would like to transfer contacts, you have to complete the five-step process. This includes the use of iCloud, a vCard file, and a Gmail account. In the meantime, photos and music are uploaded through Google Photos and Google Play Music Manager respectively.
Move to iOS helps you to migrate from Android to iOS
Meanwhile, Apple also developed Move to iOS app for those who wish to migrate from Android to iOS. Whenever a new trending mobile operating platform gets launched, you can expect some kind of mechanism to enable you to shift your data from the current device easily.
Google predicts huge migration to Android
According to sources, Google had predicted that a significant number of people will switch to Android from iOS. This is because of the launch of several devices such as Samsung Galaxy Note 7. On the contrary, Apple is also expecting users to shift to iOS with the upcoming launch of iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.
We don’t have any information as to when the android.com/switch website got rolled out. According to industry analysts, the addition of the iOS option in Android’s new platform is a step in right direction. However, the process would be simplified if the whole task of migration was entrusted through an iOS app similar to that of Apple’s app on Android.
Working with Android 7.0 Nougat
If you have access to a Nexus device, you can sign up for the Google Android Developer Beta program to download the new software bits via OTA. It is also possible for your manually install Android 7.0 Nougat but the whole process is complicated.
Some of the new features of Android 7.0 Nougat are enhanced Doze mode, notifications, multi-window, improved data saving capabilities, new keyboard theme, a simplified recent menu including support for virtual reality.
