Yu Televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax, has very subtly announced its Yureka S and Yunique Plus in India. The smartphone can be found listed on the company’s website pegged at a price of Rs. 12,999. The budget smartphone which features a 5.2-inch display also sports a full-HD panel with a high resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display has a pixel density of 423 ppi. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device’s build and construction is an alloy of metal and polycarbonate.
YU Yureka S Specs: 3GB RAM, 13MP camera
As far as the hardware is concerned, Yu Yureka S breathes from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 quad-core processor humbly clocked at 1.1GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM and 405 Adreno GPU. Users also get 16GB internal memory. The camera specs are 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera with an 84-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. Both the cameras are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.
Besides these, Yu Yureka S also comes with Wolfson Pure Sound and Yamaha Amplifier which are aimed at delivering an enhanced audio experience. The device runs on the almost two generations back Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with its AROUND YU skin on top. The UI is simple and is very close to the stock Android experience with a few tweaks, and this makes the overall user experience a lot more fun.
The dual-SIM device comes with a Hybrid SIM card tray that can take either a dual-SIM setup or a combination of a single SIM and microSD card. The Yu Yureka S is powered by a decent 3,000 mAh battery that promises to offer a standby time of 450 hours and a talk-time of up to 9 hours. The device also gets a micro-USB port for very obviously charging and data syncing, and supports the QuickCharge 1.0 technology.
This smartphone is likely to stand against Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3, and the recently unveiled Lenovo K5 Note. The Redmi Note 3 is one of the fastest selling smartphones in India, but the initial figures for the K5 are yet to be out. It will be interesting to see how a relatively new brand does against the giants.
Yu Yunique Plus Specs
The listing reveals that Yu Yureka S comes in a black color variant. The device hasn’t been made available for purchase yet. However, it is expected to start shipping soon.
Another listing shows a cheaper Yu Yunique Plus smartphone. This one is a dual-SIM smartphone and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It also features a 4.7-inch (720×1280 pixels) IPS display protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor, it is coupled with 306 Adreno GPU and 2GB RAM.
