Xiaomi has now finally unveiled the Mi A3 Android One smartphone in India. Notably, the phone features an AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, a waterdrop-style notch, and triple rear camera setup as its main highlights. Let’s have a detailed look at its specifications and features.

Xiaomi Mi A3 Specs, Features

As for the specifications, the Mi A3 comes with a 6.08-inch Super AMOLED display with HD+ resolution of 720×1560 pixels. Furthermore, the panel boasts of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. As noted, there’s a 7th-gen optical in-display fingerprint scanner which brings 15% boost in the detection area and 30% more accuracy over the previous generation.

Under the hood, the phone gets powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, akin to the just-launched Realme 5. This 11nm-based processor is further coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Users can also expand the storage up to 256GB using a microSD card.

For photography, the Mi A3 gets a triple camera setup at the rear. This includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, coupled with an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter with 118-degree FOV and f/1.79 aperture, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor for depth sensing. The phone also has the 32-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 lens and large 1.6μm pixel size for selfies.

As its biggest USP, the Mi A3 runs stock Android 9 Pie under the Android One program. This means you’ll get timely OS updates and regular security patches. All of this is powered by a 4,030mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. However, do note that you’ll get a mere 10W charger in the box and the fast charger will be sold separately.

Lastly, connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pricing, Availability & Offers

The Xiaomi Mi A3 price in India starts at Rs. 12,999 for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. On the other hand, the top-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will retail for Rs.15,999.

Notably, the phone will be available in three colours comprising of “Not Just Blue”, “More Than White”, and “Kind of Gray” options. The phone will be sold via Amazon India, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores starting 12 pm (noon) IST on August 23. Xiaomi also plans to bring the phone to offline stores in the coming time.

Launch offers include Rs. 750 cashback on HDFC Bank credit cards, with an additional Rs. 250 on EMI transactions, for the first few weeks. Furthermore, Airtel users will be able to enjoy double data benefits on recharge of Rs. 249.
