Along with the launch of MI 5X smartphone and MIUI 9, Xiaomi also introduced their first Smart Speaker at the same event known as Mi AI speaker. This AI based speaker is enriched with 360 degree sound capabilities and six omnidirectional microphone array which is capable of sensing external noise to cancel out the echo and sound distortion.
Through the voice control feed, Mi speaker can perform numerous task like play music, live radio, and audio books. According to Xiaomi, the Mi speaker is quite versatile and capable in term of assisting users in their daily tasks. For example, it can help the users to provide contextual awareness, natural language, music playback, and news delivery.
Furthermore, this smart speaker can also be used to control smart devices such as turn on/off Air conditioner, Adjust AC temperature, turn on/off lights, etc.

On the top of the speaker, there are audio control buttons, and it surrounded with the light ring around the edges which changes its colour at regular interval. The Mi AI speaker comes in White colour variants and comes with a price tag of RMB 299 (INR 2850). However, initially, the Mi speaker is rolled out in China market as a Beta version for the developer in August.
