Xiaomi has started sending out the Media invites for the launch of Mi Max 2 in India. The Mi Max 2 is the successor to the last year’s Mi Max which was one of a kind phablet from the company. Continuing the legacy of Max series, the Mi Max 2 will finally debut in India on July 18th at an event in Delhi. Though the invite just says “Big is Back” it is quite clear from the invite teaser image that it is indeed Mi Max 2 that is coming. The expected price of the device is around Rs. 14,999 for the base model; we should know the actual pricing and availability of the handset once it goes official.
XIAOMI Mi Max 2 SPECIFICATIONS: The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 sports a massive 6.44-inches (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2GHz Octa-Core 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two variants; one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB and another variant with the same 4GB RAM and 128GB storage with a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 8 custom skin on top.
Talking about the camera, there is a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter with 85-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video chats. As like any Xiaomi device, the Mi Max 2 rocks a Fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. A 5300mAh (typical) / 5200mAh (minimum) battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support is on board.
