High-resolution photographs of a brand new Xperia smartphone from Sony has been outed by OnLeaks, a tipster on Twitter. Named as Xperia XR, the upcoming device is expected to sport flagship grade specifications and is presumed to launch early next month. The handset in the image comes with a USB-C port and has a probable dimension of 146.4 x 71.9 x 8.1 mm.
The device in the leaked images strikingly coincides with that of a Sony phone which surfaced online last month. The previously leaked Xperia smartphone came with a code name F8331 and is almost certainly the same Xperia XR which has been leaked currently. The mobile will feature a new design language and will come with high-end internals.

Sony Xperia XR Specs
The Xperia XR aka F8331 has all most its specifications leaked through the gfxbench’s database. The smartphone will presumably sport a 5.1-inch Full HD 1080p display with 10-point multi-touch support. The display will also have the ability to detect gestures.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 will be in the realm of the device. The 64-bit quad-core processor comes with two processing clusters. The performance oriented cluster has two Kyro cores clocked at 2.1 GHz each and the other power saving cluster features a couple of Kyro cores running at 1.6 GHz each. The graphics division is handled by the powerful Adreno 530 in the SoC.
The upcoming smartphone will come with 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM combined with 32 GB of internal storage space. Any other variant with higher RAM or increased inbuilt memory is unknown at the moment. The Xperia XR will run the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Sony’s customized user interface layered on top of it.
The phone will boast some seriously high-end camera department. The rear camera of the phone will be a 21 MP unit which will probably make use of one of Sony’s Exmor sensors. The rear camera will support 4K (3840 x 4128) video recording at 30 fps. The back camera shall sport a dual LED flash.
The front camera is a 12 MP module which is also possibly made by Sony. The phone will make selfie enthusiast happy with this camera. The front camera will also have the capability to shoot 4K videos.
The single SIM supported phone will come with a dual band 5 GHz 802.11ac Wi-Fi and the latest Bluetooth chip. The handset will also feature a USB Type-C port, which we can clearly view in the leaked images. There is not much info about the pricing of the upcoming Sony Xperia XR, but judging by the specifications, we expect a pretty hefty price tag.
