Sony announced their X series line-up for sale in India today. Originally unveiled at the MWC 2016, the Xperia X will be available to pre-order exclusively on Amazon and Xperia Stores beginning 4 p.m. today. No information about pre-orders for the Xperia XA is available at the moment.
The Sony Xperia X will be available to purchase at a price of Rs. 48,990 and will be made available from June 7th to buyers. Amazon currently lists a further discount of Rs. 2,000, making the price of the newly launched Xperia X Rs. 46,990. The Sony Xperia XA is expected to be made available sometime in the third week of June for a price of Rs. 20,990.
Sony has additionally bundled freebies worth Rs. 2,700 to buyers of the two new phones where you can expect to receive a 3-month subscription for Sony Liv, Kindle ebooks worth Rs. 1,100, and a 3-month subscription for Hungama Play. Buyers of the Xperia X also get free gaming credit of Rs. 780 for the preloaded ‘Gameloft’ games on the device.
The Sony Xperia X comes along with dual SIM compatibility, a 5” full-HD display screen, runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset with 3GB of RAM and sports 64GB of internal memory expandable up to 200GB externally. The rear of the phone comes with a 23MP lens with an Exmor RS sensor, PDAF and pulse LED Flash. The front face of the device comes with a 13MP lens while the phone is powered by a 2620mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia XA, on the other hand, comes with a 5” HD display screen, runs on a MediaTek MT6755 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage memory. This can be expanded up to 200GB externally with a microSD card. The rear of the phone comes with a 13MP camera lens while the front face houses an 8MP lens. The dual SIM compatible phone is powered by a 2300mAh battery and runs on Android’s Marshmallow 6.0 just like the Xperia X.
