Skoda Kodiaq, Rapid facelift, Octavia RS and Skoda Yeti India launch in 2017

Skoda India is planning to launch of a bunch of new vehicles in India. These include new models along with special edition variants of the already existing models the Czech, which manufacturer currently sells in the country. In addition, Skoda has started pouring in more funds to invest in improving its after sales service.

First up we have Skoda’s new top-of-the-line SUV -the Kodiaq. It is expected to launch in international markets in early 2017, and is expected to arrive in India. The SUV is expected to get five variants globally. In India, however, options are expected to stay limited. The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be priced around Rs. 22 lakh-Rs. 30 lakh.

Up next, the Indian market is expected to get a facelift version of its mid-size saloon – the Skoda Rapid. The upcoming model of the Skoda saloon is likely to get a revamped design to give the car it own unique identity. As recently leaked spy images of the saloon which surfaced on the web clearly show the car’s redesigned front inline with the company’s new design philosophy. The car is likely to get the same engines powering existing models, with prices to fall in the range of Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh.

Besides, Skoda is also expected to release a more powerful variant of the Octavia sedan in the Indian market. Besides featuring several cosmetic upgrades, the bumped version of the Skoda Octavia will come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel engines churning out 217bhp and 182bhp respectively. These power terrains are however for international markets, as the company is yet to confirm the engine lineup officially for the Indian market.

And finally, the next-generation Skoda Yeti is also in the works. The upcoming model of the Yeti is likely to get a significant overhaul in terms of design and features. The SUV is expected to launch sometime around late 2017 or early 2018. Besides, Skoda is planning the launch of a special edition of its cars in India, which include the Skoda Octavia Black Edition and Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Edition.

In addition, Skoda has started pouring in more funds to invest in improving its after sales service. To address its after-sales issues, the company is launching new service initiatives starting next month. These include a four-year or 100,000 km. warranty and four years’ on-road assistance with no extra cost. The company has also assured that customers visiting Skoda service centers for periodic maintenance will have their vehicles delivered on the same day.
