Korean giant Samsung has posted the first official TV advertisement for the much awaited Galaxy Note 7. The device will be officially announced on August 2 in New York, and most of the details about the device are already out. Though this is the first time we see any official announcement from Samsung.
The ad pretty much confirms everything we know so far. For starters, we get to see a fingerprint unlock which suggests the company is teasing the much-anticipated Iris scanner. Next, we have a bunch of phones under water which suggests that the upcoming Note 7 will be the first water-proof device in the Note series. Also, we see a model lying down with a glowing face indicating the possibility of a front-facing flash for selfies. You can check out the advert below:
We can also expect the upcoming Note 7 to get the S-Pen note taking functionality as the advert shows a bit of highlight going on. Finally, the advert confirms that it will be called the Galaxy Note 7 as opposed to Note 6 earlier suggested. The Korean giant has given its reasons as why they have ditched the ‘6’ in the series and jumped onto Note 7. According to Samsung, Galaxy Note 7 will compliment the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

Colour options expected include Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and Blue Coral variants. The Korean giant is also expected to bundle the Gear VR headset with the Galaxy Note 7.
We can’t be sure at this point as to when the Galaxy Note 7 will make its way to Indian shores. However, we do expect it arrives in India shortly after its launch in the United States while pre-orders could start by the end of July.
In other related news, a post on Android Developers blog suggests that the upcoming Note 7 will run Android Nougat out-of-the-box. In the post, Google has revealed that the forthcoming Android Nougat is slated for a consumer release by the end of Autumn, which suggests the search engine giant might be switching gears this time around.
Though we’d take this piece of information with a heavy dose of salt as it doesn’t make sense as to why would Google debut the latest version of Android for a Samsung device instead of its Nexus devices?
