Samsung Electronic India is steadily expanding its Galaxy J line-up with the launch of new entry-level 4G LTE smartphones. Back on Thursday, company has introduced Samsung Galaxy J2 smartphone with new ultra data saving mode in Hyderabad. The handset will be available in two color options: Black and White.
“The genesis of Galaxy J2 is Samsung’s desire to extend a differentiated 4G experience by addressing three key consumer requirements of a rich and immersive display, a cost-efficient Internet experience, and an enhanced performance device,” said Asim Warsi – Vice President, Marketing, IT & Mobile at Samsung India.
Upgraded from the Galaxy J1, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (SM-J200F) sports a 4.5-inch Quad HD display. Under the hood, it’s powered by a 32-bit Quad-Core Exynos 3475 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with 1GB of RAM.
The handset offers 8GB of built-in storage space, which is expandable using a microSD cars slot. The Galaxy J2 sports a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.
Measuring 136x69x8.3mm body dimension, the Samsung Galaxy J2 features a 2,000 mAh battery. Out-of-the-box, the smartphone runs on latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.
Connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack port.
The company has also developed an India-centric innovation by introducing ‘Ultra Data Saving Mode,’ which delivers up to 50% data saving and up to 2X battery standby time, thereby making Samsung Galaxy J2 the most cost-effective 4G smartphone in the market.
Details about the physical build quality and design of the smartphone is still unknown. Samsung announced Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in the previous month, but they have much higher specs and features that cannot be compared with Samsung Galaxy J2.

Priced at Rs. 8,490, the new Samsung Galaxy J2 smartphone will be available for purchase from 21st September, 2015 across all channels.
