OnePlus X Price in India

Just three months after the announcement of its Flagship Killer, OnePlus 2, OnePlus took to the stage again to announce the launch of its second smartphone of the year – OnePlus X.

Announced today, OnePlus X focuses a lot on design and aesthetic feel. The OnePlus X has broadened the company’s offering from OnePlus One in 2014 to OnePlus 2 in 2015.

Design and Build of OnePlus X

As we mentioned earlier, huge emphasis has been made on the design and the aesthetic feel of the device. There will be two versions of the X, one version will have a black glass finish which is a limit edition ceramic glass, the other will be the Onyx glass finish that has rounded edges and is polished meticulously to have that mirror-like finish.

The limited edition ceramic glass will be a premium phone as only 10,000 such devices will be manufactured. The Onyx glass version weighs at just 138 g which is the lightest OnePlus device yet.

The whole process of making a limited edition ceramic glass OnePlus is a work of art. OnePlus claims that a total of 25 days is needed to complete the whole process of manufacturing this device. The process starts from baking the ceramic at 1482 degrees Celcius for over 28 hours and then cooling it for 48 hours. The glass panel is then polished and fit onto the device.

OnePlus claims that the sand that is used in the ceramics has been imported from Australia. The overall weight of the premium version is a bit more than the Onyx Glass version at 160 g.

The overall dimensions of this device are 140 x 69 x 6.9mm.

OnePlus X Specs and Hardware

OnePlus X Specs and Hardware

In the small form factor of the OnePlus X, Oneplus has come up with some decent specifications. It features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, with Adreno 330 graphics, and 3GB of RAM. The 801 might be an old chip, but it has been tested in many devices. Owing to the affordability of this device, this chip selection is no surprise whatsoever.

The OnePlus X comes with 16 GB inbuilt memory, which is not much, but for the first time in a OnePlus device, there is a provision for expanding via microSD card. The X supports upto 128GB of expansion. The microSD slot comes with the sim tray and you have to choose between using a second sim or the microSD.

The device also comes with a notification slider, but unfortunately, there is no fingerprint scanner support or a USB type C connection.

Other connectivity options consist of Bluetooth 4.0 and 801.11n Wi-Fi, with no support for 5GHz Wi-Fi. The device features a 2525 mAh battery.

OnePlus X comes with Oxygen OS, which is the proprietary OS built by OnePlus based of Android 5.1.1. The experience is the same as that you would get in stock android, only with greater customizability. The phone comes preloaded with swiftkey that supports quick text entry and Shelf that helps you organize your stuff on the device.

Camera specifications

OnePlus XThe OnePlus X comes with a 13 MP F/2.2 aperture and boasts of a 0.2 second autofocus time. According to OnePlus, this will be the fastest camera that it has offered till now due to the phase detection auto focus technology. The front camera has a 8 MP sensor with beauty mode support. In the video department, the video recording quality tops at full HD with no support for 4K.
