The upcoming Moto C and Moto C Plus are expected to be the new budget offerings from the company. Both devices will take over the Moto E range to become the new low-tier devices. as the Moto E was earlier the most affordable smartphones from the Lenovo-owned brand. The Moto E will now fall in the slightly low-mid or low mid-range offering, while the Moto C range will be the bottom tier range.
Leaked 360-degree shots of the upcoming low-tier Moto C range have also been obtained by Android Authority. Moreover, these shots are sourced from the assembly lines which only suggests that initial production is already underway. That said, there’s no word on when these devices will launch. However, a debut around May is likely on the cards.
Moto C and Moto C Plus: Specifications and Features
In terms of specifications of the rumored Moto C and Moto C Plus, nothing is official but multiple reports suggest that both smartphones will get powered by a MediaTek processor. Sources indicate that there’ll be both 3G and 4G variants of these handsets, where 3G models will feature a 32-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, while its 4G counterpart is to get powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor rated at 1.1 GHz.
Also, both the Moto C and Moto C Plus will pack a 5-inch display. However, the Moto C is to feature a meager 854 x 480-pixel resolution. The Moto C Plus, however, is said to come with a 1280x720p resolution.
As far as storage goes, the Moto C will be available 8GB and 16GB built-in storage options, while Moto C Plus is likely to come in a 16GB variant. All models in the Moto C range are also expected to come with microSD expandability.
In terms of memory, the Moto C is expected to pack just 1GB of RAM, while the Moto C Plus is expected to get both 1GB and 2GB RAM variants.
In terms of cameras, the Moto C will feature a 5MP fixed focus camera while the Moto C Plus will pack an 8MP primary camera with auto-focus. On the front, all Moto C smartphones will pack a 2MP selfie shooter bundled with LED flash.
Speaking of battery, the Moto C is to get powered by a 2350mAh battery. Juicing up the Moto C Plus is said to be a massive 4000mAh battery. Besides, both the Moto C and Moto C Plus will run Android Nougat out-of-the-box. As far as pricing goes, the base model of the Moto C could be priced around $100 or even less.
