Microsoft has unveiled Microsoft Teams, which is a new chat-based workspace to enhance the collaboration capabilities in Microsoft Office 365. According to industry analysts, the launch of Microsoft Teams clearly shows that the Redmond-based company has created a tool to combat Slack.
In a statement released to the press, Microsoft revealed that Microsoft Teams is capable of bringing people, conversations, content and the tools team under one umbrella.
Commenting on the launch, Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft disclosed that the company core purpose is to empower every person and organization with the technology to be more productive as individuals and in groups.

Nadella added that Office 365 is the broadest toolkit and platform for creation, communication, and collaboration. Hence, Microsoft Teams adds a new experience to Office 365 since the chat-based workspace is designed to empower the art of teams.
Microsoft Teams enables you to view team conversations
Microsoft Teams features persistent, threaded chat to keep people engaged and informed. You will be able to view team conversations, which will be delegated to the entire team. The system also offers private chat capabilities.
Microsoft Teams also offers a library of emojis, GIFs, custom stickers and memes, which enable people to express their personality from within the dashboard. You will be able to start voice and video conversations including working with the Microsoft Office documents.
Microsoft Graph provides improved analytics
The Microsoft Graph generated by Microsoft Teams enables intelligence to help with information relevance, discovery, and sharing. Moreover, the cross-application membership service infused with the product enables you to migrate from one collaboration tool to another easily.
Furthermore, Teams offers the capability for teams to customize the experience to meet their specific requirements. As a team member, you can create channels to organize conversations by topic.
It is possible to easily customize channels with Tabs for Office 365 services, through which you can quickly access documents and applications.It also provides support for the Microsoft Bot Framework, which brings intelligent third-party services into the team environment.
Microsoft Teams will be available in preview release starting October 2 in 181 countries and 18 languages. Initially, the tool will be made available to Office 365 commercial customers with Office 365 Enterprise or Business plans.
