LG has finally launched the most anticipated smartphone of the month, the Modular G5, in India priced at Rs. 52,990. The device has a sleek metal uni-body featuring a slide-out battery. The device is compatible with a variety of modules such as LG CAM Plus, LG 360, and LG 360 VR.
The LG CAM Plus is the (as the name suggests) camera module that can be plugged in through the battery slot to click pictures. The comfort is allowed with the help of control buttons on the module. It employs a 1200mAh battery to allow longer shooting time.
The LG 360 CAM is a 360-degree angle camera with two 13MP 200-degree wide angle sub-cameras. Along with a 1200 mAh battery, this additionally comes with a 4GB internal memory. The module provides a 2k resolution video recording.
The LG 360 VR is a module that can be connected to the phone with a dedicated table, to simulate a 130-inch TV viewing experience (unlike other VR devices that require the phone to be inserted into it). The foldable design makes it portable.
The phone is meant to create a hassle-free experience. Pre-installed in it is the Friends Manager, a hub application that allows the phone to connect with friends’ phones as soon as they are in range.
