Intex Aqua View with Eyelet VR headset launched for Rs. 8999

Intex, the domestic smartphone manufacturer, announced on June 13 that it would be bundling their Eyelet VR headset along with their newest Aqua View smartphone at a price of Rs. 8,999.

The Eyelet VR headset is the first certified Google Cardboard work in India and takes low-budget buyers into the new world of Virtual Reality.

The new Aqua View smartphone sports a 5” HD display screen with 2.5D curved glass and offers a 360-degree viewing angle. The phone comes along with a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek chipset and houses 2GB of RAM. The device offers 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB with a micro-SD card.

The entry-level priced Intex Aqua View also comes with a fingerprint sensor in the home button, an 8MP rear lens as well as a 5MP front camera. The phone is powered by a 2200 mAh battery and runs Android’s Lollipop 5.1 out of the box.

The Intex Aqua View comes with a pre-loaded cardboard app on the phone and allows users to consume content in 360-degree view. The Eyelet VR headset is compatible with any phone that comes with a gyroscope and accelerometer, and can be used with any smartphone as long as the screen is up to 6-inch.

The cardboard viewer by Intex is much like the original version of Google’s Cardboard and allows users to enjoy VR content by using dedicated applications on their smartphones. The smartphone is then slid into the viewer and held up against the eyes for VR viewing. One drawback with the Intex Eyelet VR headset is that it lacks a strap that would provide some level of support while using the viewer.

The dual-SIM phone comes with support for 4G networks but can employ the use of one active 4G connection at a single time. The Intex Aqua View can be purchased along with the free Eyelet VR headset from offline dealers around the country.
