If you’re someone who’s immensely attached to the Amazon ecosystem and looking for the features of Amazon Echo or Dot on your smartphone then, the HTC U11 is a right choice for you. As from today onwards with its latest OTA (Over The Air) update, HTC will roll out the Alexa digital voice assistant support for the U11

To set the thing up, U11 users have to install the update on a stable network and then tap on the Alexa app. Further, they have to log in to their Amazon account. However, this particular support was previously in available in Huawei Ascend Mate 9 smartphone, and it perfectly works on that.

Before this update, HTC has tried hard to synchronize the device with the Alexa correctly. And, now with the HTC U11, users can activate the Alexa with a voice command when the screen is off or when the handset is locked. Further, the Alexa can also be triggered by the company’s proprietary “HTC Edge Sense” technology where users just have to squeeze the side of the phone.

With this latest update, HTC U11 can take advantage of Alexa Voice capabilities, as it can do the various tasks like:

  • Music playback
  • Making to-do lists
  • Setting alarms
  • Streaming podcasts
  • Playing audiobooks
  • Providing weather, traffic, and other real time information, such as news.
