Several reports suggest that the upcoming phones from Google won’t get the Nexus branding. The rumored Sailfish variant will be called ‘Pixel’, while the larger 5.5-inch Marlin variant will likely be called the Pixel XL. Now, a video has surfaced on the web which shows design renders of the Sailfish from every angle.
The video has been posted by Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks, in collaboration with Android Authority, giving us a fairly good idea of how the Sailfish will look in terms of aesthetics. Going by the video, one can see that the device features a USB Type-C port. Besides, there’s a dual-stereo speaker setup at the bottom of the device.
In addition, the 3.5mm headphone jack is housed along the top left edge of the phone, which debunks certain reports that Google could follow Apple’s lead by doing away with the headphone jack. The back of the phone will likely be a combination of glass and metallic, which gives the device a distinct look and feel.
Google Nexus Sailfish/Pixel Specs
In terms of specs, the Sailfish is rumored to feature a 5-inch to 5.2-inch display with a 1920 x 1080p screen resolution. While powering the smartphone could be a quad-core Snapdragon 820 or 820 processor bundled with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM along with 32 GB of built-in storage. Also expected is a 12MP primary camera, an 8MP front-facing shooter along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Juicing up the smartphone would likely be a 2770mAh battery. In other related news, specifications of Google’s 7-inch Huawei-made Android tablet also surfaced on the web last week. Deemed by many to be the true successor of the Nexus 7 (2013), the upcoming tablet is said to feature a 7-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, a 13MP rear camera and 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of built-in storage.
