Google launches Android Skilling Program to train 2 million developers in India

Google (Alphabet Inc) has announced the Android Skilling Program in India aiming to train and certify two million developers in a time span of around three years. Endorsing the “Skill India” scheme of the Indian Government, the company intends to offer state-of-the-art skilling and educational initiative at a very economic rate.

The course named as “The Android Developer Fundamentals Course”, will be available at various public and private universities across the country and training institutes of the NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation of India). The uniquely customized course will be taught in person by a trainer. The universities will include the training right from this year in their Computer Science curriculum.

An online Mobile Computing Course will also be started with the contents from the curriculum of “The Android Developer Fundamentals Course” at National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (online education portal jointly run by the IITs and IISc) from 18th July, 2016.

All practicals and study materials of the Android Developer Fundamentals reference course will be accessible free of cost for everyone to download.

Furthermore, Google has collaborated with Koenig, Simplilearn, UpGrad, Edureka, Manipal Global and UdaCity to prepare them to train potential candidates for the course. Google will authorize them to train students under the Android Developer Fundamentals Course and guide them towards a successful career.

Associate Android Developer Certification

Google also launched Associate Android Developer Certification, a globally standardized job intended examination. The company aspires to help potential employers by providing a world-class guideline for obtaining quality entry level developers.

Already prepared developers can take the certification test by clicking here. This test will assess all the abilities to do an actual job in the industry. The certification test will cost Rs. 6500.

Google believes that with such a huge potential of India in the domain of Android developing, the Android Skilling program will do the vital job of quality control and produce state of the art developers. The program will also put Indian developers in focus from all over the world and successfully take India to the number one position in mobile app development.
