Coolpad to launch 5.0-inch variant of Note 3 on 15th January in India?

Chinese telecommunications equipment company Coolpad has started rolling out press invites to the event, which is taking place in India on 15th January. Headquartered in Shenzhen, Coolpad will most likely introduce another exciting budget Android smartphone in India this week.

However, the invite email doesn’t talk much or give precise information on what Coolpad has to offer to Indian customers with its upcoming smartphone.

The invite image says “Small is the new big,” which clearly hints that the new smartphone from Coolpad will have a smaller form factor, compared to its current offering, Coolpad Note 3.

Apparently, Coolpad may launch a smaller variant of Coolpad Note 3, which will possibly feature somewhat similar or enhanced offering i.e. 5.0″ IPS display, 3GB RAM, super-fast fingerprint scanner, Android 5.1 (upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow), etc.  at a lesser price tag.

Coolpad Note 3 features a 5.5″ IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 267 ppi pixel density. Powered by a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6753 SoC, it comes bundled with 3GB RAM and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Founded in 1993, Coolpad was listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in December 2004. Coolpad is a leading developer and provider of integrated solutions for smartphones, mobile data platform systems and value-added business operations in China.
