The South Korean giant Samsung has announced the Bixby voice capabilities in India today. This digital voice assistant will allow consumers to experience a smarter way to interact with their smartphones. Bixby, Samsung’s intelligent interface, will enable users in India to get things done faster and easier.
The Bixby is now enabled for the Samsung flagship smartphones lineup like Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S8+. However, the voice assistant is available in US English language and can be activated by holding the dedicated button on the above mention smartphones, or by just saying, “Hi, Bixby.”
The Bixby Voice assistant is developed at the Samsung Research & Development Institute, Bangalore which is the Samsung’s largest R&D facility outside Korea. Nonetheless, the Bixby is an intelligent interface which supports every task that the application is capable of performing using voice, touch or text. The Bixby encompasses the different features like Bixby Home, Bixby Vision, Bixby Voice and Bixby Reminder.
The Bixby is the classic example of the latest machine learning algorithm technology that every smartphone manufacturer tried to impart in their offerings. But Samsung takes the Bixby to the whole new level; its deep integration is built into the smartphone settings so that users can change phone options-such as setting the screen timeout or showing all notifications independent of what users are currently doing.
Moreover, the Bixby is highly intuitive and smart which enhanced smartphone productivity and personalization through Quick Commands. For example, now users can use the command “good night” in place of “Turn on Do-not-disturb mode or set the alarm for 6:00 AM and turn on a blue light filter.” Moreover, the Samsung has already confirmed that the Bixby will also work with these following apps Gallery, Camera, Contacts, Settings, Bixby, Reminder, Weather, Phone, Messages, the Internet.

The Voice assistant race in the global market has been heated up with the launch of Bixby digital assistance. As, Samsung tries to take on the rivals like Siri, Google Assistant, Cortana, and Amazon Alexa in the upcoming weeks.
