Apple Watch 2 to come with bigger battery: Release date, specs, price details

First-generation Apple Watch is one of the most popular smartwatches available but, it’s no secret that the company was not entirely happy with its sales. With that, there is that kind of expectation that the second generation, dubbed “Apple Watch 2,” will be a bit more attractive to the customers.

The first version went on sale in April of last year, and it is almost time that Apple finally unveils the second generation. However, there has been no official statement about it from the company. At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) so far, there has been no talk about the gadget, besides the release of the WatchOS3 software.

According to DigiTimes, the company is already gearing up for the production of the Apple Watch 2 and that the hardware components and chips needed are scheduled to be shipped to the production centers before the end of the year. It is likely that this one will be announced towards the end of this year. The new features include bits that relate to fitness, making the Apple Watch somewhat of a complete companion for the busy professional.

Reliable Apple Insiders claim that the new watch won’t be equipped with a lot of surprises. It is possible that there will be minor updates to both software and hardware and the design will practically be the same. According to this story, one of the surprises in Apple Watch 2 will be a bigger battery. This is an attempt to battle one of the major complaints of the Apple Watch, that it quickly ran out of battery. We can hope the second generation will be able to provide users longer hours of usage

The first-generation Apple Watch rightfully deserves the distinction as a smartwatch in the industry; the second generation promises much more as the company is likely to attempt to rescue some sales from rivals like Fitbit, Samsung and especially Pebble that has now started offering budget options.
